What will I study?
Religion is a major force in human experience, it has shaped the world’s history, literature, art, culture, politics, ethics, and economics. Therefore, as a subject religious studies is by nature an interdisciplinary field with direct relevance to the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Religious and ethical debates are widely prevalent in the modern world.

Linked Careers
Counselling/Social work: The Religious studies course at a level enables you to become more empathetic and considerate. It also provides you with opportunities to become a rational and understanding person.
Law: The Religious studies course at a level provides a great emphasis on your argumentative ability and will provide you with a great understanding on how to balance your argument, how to be persuasive and effective communication.
Psychology: The Religious studies course at a level allows students to develop their understanding of the world around them and the human minds need for answers to difficult questions (such as why do we exist?).
How Will I Be Assessed?
The course is examined with three exams (one for each component of the course).
Do I Need A Religious Studies GCSE?
Although this may seem advantageous no you do not need to have studied Religious Studies at GCSE, as the course is split into three components (Philosophy, Ethics and Buddhism).
