How Will This Subject Help Me In The Future?
The transferable skills which geography covers (literacy, numeracy, communication skills, ICT & problem solving) are an asset in the world of employment today.
Geography looks at the past (history) to predict the future (science) and encourages flexible thinking, as well as providing a firm basis for life-long learning.
Employers like Geographers because they know they are equipped with a wide range of knowledge, understanding and skills. Longer term, ‘A’ Level Geography has been identified as a ‘preferred facilitating subject’, supporting entry to the Russell Group of Universities and Geography graduates in the UK experience the second lowest rate of graduate unemployment.
