Biology A-Level

Sixth Form Life

What will I study?

A-level Biology is a broad and in-depth course which covers both animal and plant science. There is a big step-up in terms of expected understanding, knowledge and study commitments in comparison to Biology at GCSE level. The subject content is sometimes tricky to get to grips with, so would be complimented by also studying chemistry or maths.

At least a grade 6 in GCSE Sciences, English and Maths are needed.

The course is called OCR A level biology (H420 Biology A) and the specification can be found via the link below.

Are There Any Work Experience Opportunities?

We have recently set up a Medics Society for those interested in medical or veterinary careers.

This is in conjunction with an organisation called Medic Mentors, which provide assistance in organising relevant work experience placements or advice.

The school also maintains strong links with Harper Adams University, which has provided placements and extra study opportunities in the past.
