What will I study?
Our learning journey comprises of globalisation and regeneration in terms of human geography in Y12 and tectonics and coasts in terms of physical geography. Moving on to Y13 students cover globalisation and migration in term of human and water, the carbon cycle and energy in terms of physical geography. The course provides an excellent balance of geographical subjects and brings to the discussion many elements of current affairs making it very relevant today.
We usually ask our students to complete some local fieldwork in Y12 and then a residential fieldwork visit takes place to Aberystwyth University where we look at both regeneration and coastal management.
The course is called Geography A Level – Edexcel and the specification can be found via the link below.

How Will I Be Assessed?
There is a non-examined assessment worth 20% of the overall A level. This may relate to any aspect of the specification. It will need to incorporate fieldwork data collected individually or as part of a group and also secondary data. This report is expected to be around 3000 to 4000 words.
