What will I study?
Drama is fun, insightful and rewarding. You develop lots of important skills such as: creativity, teamwork, analytical skills, spontaneity, empathy and confidence.
Students have the opportunity to perform as a variety of characters, developing your own plays and performing existing plays. You will also gain an in depth knowledge of two plays and learn how to evaluate a live performance as part of the written exam. The practical and theory work hand in hand.
The course is called AQA A-Level Drama and Theatre and the specification can be found via the link below.

Do I Need A Drama GCSE?
You do not have to have studied GCSE or BTEC Drama but it is helpful if you have. If you have the confidence to perform to an audience and the ability to understand and analyse texts then Drama could be for you.
Are There Any Trips Or Work Experience Opportunities?
In an ideal world there would be many opportunities to watch live theatre and visit a range of Theatres. Where this is not possible there are ways of watching pre-recorded performances from Theatres all over the country – some are even streamed live.
Ideally there would also be the opportunity to attend workshops with actors in theatre companies that are currently touring – this is usually done at a Theatre or they can visit the school.
