What will I study?
Unit 1 – Design In this unit you will learn the design process. You will learn to analyse a product so that you can see what features make it work and how it meets requirements. You will learn how to take ideas from different products in order to produce a design. You will be taught problem solving techniques.
Unit 2 – Producing Products You will learn the different types of engineering information in order to plan how to make engineering products. You will develop skills in working safely, with a wide range of processes, equipment and tools.
Unit 3 – Solving Problems You will learn about the materials, processes and maths that engineers use to solve problems. You will follow a process and develop drawing and communication skills.

25% – Design Folder (Solving an Engineering Problem)
50% – Practical (You will produce a product from a set of Working Drawings)
25 % – Exam (You will be given the opportunity to do the exam twice)
