What will I study?

As part of the Art & Design course, you will study a wide range of areas. These include painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, photography, 3D design and textiles. Every project begins with a theme that you will explore using different media and techniques. You study artists, craftspeople and designers that link to each theme and then conclude your work by creating your own personal art response to each project theme.

Putting art into context is important and you will study both historical art and design and modern, contemporary examples. We always ensure that you have the chance to work alongside contemporary artists too, in workshops here and in galleries we visit. This is a diverse qualification, that equips you for future art and design creative study or work in the creative sector.
