APPEALING FOR A PLACE AT HABERDASHERS’ ABRAHAM DARBY
We would strongly advise all parents to carefully read the guidance notes below before completing and submitting their appeal form. Please click on the link below to access the guidance notes. These guidance notes are intended to be read alongside the admission appeals form to provide parents with guidance in completing the appeal form and information relating to the admission appeal process. A paper copy is also available to collect from the Academy’s reception.

YEAR 7 APPEALS FOR SEPTEMBER 2024
Offers to pupils have been made on 1st March 2024 to those that have applied on time. Telford & Wrekin Admissions have not offered school places yet to those applicants that have applied late or who have not returned a preference form. Late applications will be considered at the Review stage of the process which will be completed on Friday 15th March.
Parents have until midday on Friday 8th March to request, via their MyTelford account, to be considered for any other schools at the Review.
Parents should also ask Telford & Wrekin Admissions for their child to be added to Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby’s waiting list if you have not gained an automatic place.
If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place once the review stage has ended, then you have the right of appeal – please read all the information below on how to appeal. Please note that you are allowed to appeal at more than one school.

The deadline for Year 7 appeal applications is 9.00am on TUESDAY 9TH APRIL 2024
Please make sure all appeal forms, school reports and any supporting documentation are returned to the school by the above date. Please click on the link below to access the appeals form.
The new Year 7 Appeals Hearing will be held either end of April / Early May (date/s to be confirmed). You will be notified of your date and time of your appeal once the deadline has passed.
APPEALS FOR YEAR 7 NEW INTAKE SEPTEMBER 2024 – Parents who are unsuccessful in being allocated a Year 7 place at Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby for the September 2024 intake have the right of appeal. Please click on the link below to access the Academy’s New Year 7 Intake 2024 Appeals Form. This is an “interactive” document for you to complete on your computer. Please complete in full (clearly indicating why you are appealing for a place for your child at Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby), sign and return, with any further supporting documents including your child’s latest school report, direct to the Academy by email HADAppeals@taw.org.uk for the attention of the Clerk to the Independent Appeals Panel. Alternatively it can posted to the Clerk to the Appeals Panel c/o Haberdashers Abraham Darby or dropped off at reception. Year 7 appeals will be held over 2 days at either the end of April / beginning of May. Please submit your appeals paperwork before the deadline date above. Please note that you are allowed to appeal at more than one secondary school.

IN-YEAR APPEALS
If the admission authority has refused your child a place in any other year group at Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby during the current academic year, you have the right of appeal. Please click on the link below to access the Academy’s In-Year Appeals Form. This is an “interactive” document for you to complete on your computer. Please complete in full (clearly indicating why you are appealing for a place for your child at Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby), sign and return, with any further supporting documents including your child’s latest school report, direct to the Academy by email HADAppeals@taw.org.uk as soon as possible, for the attention of the Clerk to the Independent Appeals Panel. We try to hear all appeals within 6 school weeks (30 school days) from receipt of the appeals form (as long as all the information has been provided on the form). Failure to complete the form in full or submit the relevant supporting documents may delay the date of your appeal hearing. You will be notified of the date and time of the next round of appeals by the Clerk to the Appeals Panel.
